Ingredients:

  • 2 5-ounce cans solid light tuna packed in oil, drained well*

  • 2 egg whites

  • 1 teaspoon dried catnip

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 325°F (163°C). Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. Beat Egg Whites: In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on high speed to beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.

  3. Blend Ingredients: In a food processor or blender, combine tuna, 1/4 cup beaten egg whites, and catnip. Blend until completely smooth. Gently fold this mixture into the remaining beaten egg whites.

  4. Pipe Mixture: Transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a 1/4- to 1/2-inch round or star tip. Pipe 3/4-inch dollops onto the prepared baking sheet.

  5. Bake Treats: Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the treats are dried and easily release from the parchment. Allow the treats to cool completely before storing.

Tips: *Use solid light tuna, not chunk light tuna, for best results. Chunk light tuna is too moist and can prevent the treats from baking properly.
